No matter what sounds you profess to be your music of choice, chances are, that at some point over the last five years, you will have got your rocks off to Radio Slave! Aka Matt Edwards is Rekids co-founder. He produces quality music under a number of different guises (Quiet Village, Sea Devils, REKID, The Machine), but perhaps Matt’s most instantly recognisable nom de guerre is his “Radio Slave” moniker, under which he completes his incendiary remixes and re-edits, and thanks in part to his inspirational melding of Kylie’s 'Can’t Get You Out Of My Head' to New Order’s 'Blue Monday'. However, before such sonic schizophrenia gets you calling for the men in white coats, just feel the quality and consider Matt’s legacy. Fired by the first wave of acid house, Matt gained his musical spurs by partying to dance music that was just that: music you danced to, irrespective of tribal factions.
Currently, he holds residencies at Berlin’s Panorama Bar and Paris’ Rex Club with the Rekids label nights, and can be found most weekends headlining the world’s top clubs such as Fabric (London), Rex Club (Paris), Womb (Tokyo), Space (Ibiza), Sub Club (Glasgow) and Robert Johnson (Frankfurt). Earlier this year, Matt cemented his position as one of Britain’s heavyweight DJ’s with an appearance alongside Carl Craig at the ’20 years of Planet E’ party in London.
We are very excited to host RADIO SLAVE as part of his 'Feel The Same' Album Tour. Playing alongside Renato and TOYTOY Residents Zolabuddé and Sound Sensible.
