Watershed and Friends... at Marriott Ballito Beats this Sunday

By Press Release / Upcoming Events / Thursday, 04 April 2019 18:00

It’s a family affair at Ballito Beats this Sunday as iconic South Africa band Watershed head to Sugar Rush Park in Ballito for another afternoon of great entertainment and family-themed activities. This Sunday’s show will include not one but two opening acts, as event organisers Impi Concept Events ramp up the entertainment with even more local talent.

No stranger to Ballito locals, Marc Maurel & The Madness will bring an eclectic mix of southern rock n roll paired with acoustic styles inspired by the coastal vibes of the North Coast. The youngest member of the band, Demica, is just 10 years old and happens to be Marc’s daughter.

"I came home one day from work in December and found Demica playing her ukulele,” Says Marc. It’s like something just sparked and she's been at it ever since. Out of nowhere she could play and sing with ease and so I asked her if she wanted to play with me and all of a sudden we had a band. It's a real privilege that I get to do this with her"

Marc Maurel & The Madness will also be playing at Splashy Fen this year on the Acoustic Stage. The band is made up of Reece Berkley on drums, Jordan van Zyl on lead guitar, Shales Berkley on bass, Demica Maurel on vocals and ukulele and Marc Maurel on vocals and acoustic guitar. Local Tanner Wareham will also be performing for the first time on the Ballito Beats stage. Together with drummer Reece Cook, the duo will warm up the crowds with a series of alternative pop tracks, catchy hooks and instrumental arrangements.
