UNDERGROUND PRESS was lucky enough to crack an invite to an exclusive music video launch for local artists Cee TreeHaven, Millz_likethewindmill and Champ031.
Hosted at the Don Brer co studios by Creative Junkies and Cee TreeHaven, the screening was an intimate setting with a hand full of people in attendance. Our hosts wined and dined us and went out of their way to make us all feel comfortable. Thanks! We were also treated to a few live performances by some fellow artists to get us ready for the main event.
At last the anticipation was over and they unveiled the music video, perfectly named “Bloom”. The crowd went quiet and as we all stood there in awe, the mesmerizing song seemed to hit all the right notes and beats. With catchy intellectual lyrics and beautifully intriguing locations, this one is sure to be a hit! The video is well edited and literally oozes quality, it’s exciting to see our local artists pushing out this kind of standard.
We had a bit of a Q & A afterwards and the guys talked about what the track means to them and what they were trying to convey through the lyrics and video. The main feel of the track was to celebrate and appreciate the feminine and of course Mary Jane. Cee TreeHaven also spoke about mental health and how the herb can and does assist in treatment.
Finally, a heartfelt dedication went out to a woman who was affectionately called Aunty Charmaine. Without the help of Aunty Charmaine, many of Durban’s most talented artists would have nowhere to grow and master their skills. Her belief in them shines through and I’m sure she will continue to support and help those in need of a solid creative outlet.
Thank you for having UNDERGROUND PRESS for your special evening and we look forward to seeing and hearing more melodic tracks!
Now, check out the video and let us know what you think!
