An Evening of the best progressive music South Africa has to offer that's not just a sonic journey but an experience to remember.

South Africa has had a long and rich history with progressive bands and musicians, from Trevor Rabin in the 1970s, who went on to join progressive rock giants Yes, to bands like Plum and Odball in the ’90s and early ’00s. The last couple years have seen a definite growth in the scene with the likes of Deity’s Muse breaking into the international market with the numerous UK and European tours under their belts and coverage in a prestigious publication like Metal Hammer and Prog magazines.

Let There Be Prog South Africa’s premier progressive music festival is happy to announce the line-up and stage times for this year’s edition. Taking place on the 9th November at the new Rumours Rock City at Hillfox Center, the event will host 8 bands as a showcase of some of the finest examples from the South African Prog Scene.

For the second year of the festival, they have also decided to host a sister event on the 8th November named Prognosis, in Centurion, with a selection of bands from the main Lineup.

Austen from Savage Lucy had the following to say, “We are extremely stoked to be part of the upcoming event “Let There Be Prog”. Danny Helsing is known for his hard-working nature and permanent positive vibes in the Johannesburg music scene, a couple of years back he started LTBP, an event that is one of a kind in the progressive acts that are selected to play. The entire line up of both events highlights interesting music in our country. Savage can’t wait for this badass lineup. Hopefully, we see you there!”

Calvin de Swardt, manager for Cape Town’ Ohgod adds, "The guys have been working hard on writing new material for their new album. They've been itching to hit the stage again, since our last show in May with Ukranian heavyweights, Jinjer. We are all looking very forward to performing for our PTA & JHB fans & are honoured to be headlining both Let There Be Prog events on the 8th & 9th. Expect to see an energetic Ohgod performance and see you all soon! Big shout out to Danny Helsing for organizing the events and making it happen"
