This Summer Share Their Second Single, ‘Commotion’

By / Off The Press / Friday, 31 July 2020 08:30

Johannesburg based alternative music project, This Summer released their second single 'Commotion' today, taken from their forthcoming debut album Wonderland. With dark electronic undertones, this alternative rock track balances intensity, allure, and foreboding opening the door to the haunted world of Wonderland.

Growling guitars, pounding drums, electronica and slick production propel the hook-driven, ‘no filler’ punk attitude. However, this apocalyptic noise reveals flashes of unexpected beauty amidst vocal and instrumental intensity.

Commotion is a about darkness and hope: the process of inner and outer transformation. Everything familiar is lost. The experiences you don’t search for —the ones you try to avoid but can’t—contain their own haunting beauty.” – This Summer
