Hailing from the small town of Bloemfontein before moving to the bustle that is Johannesburg, Thompson began his musical journey at the age of fourteen when he started playing the guitar. His musical interest expanded when he began singing and songwriting a few years later - despite his initial shyness.

Thompson’s single ‘Ends of the Earth’ can only be described as a beautiful combination of genres, rhythms and catchy, mellow riffs. It explores the dedication of one partner to another within a relationship and as such, presents an abundance of pleasing dips and abrupt bursts of sounds that are highly effective in maintaining pace. ‘Ends of the Earth’ clearly displays a combination of elements of music that has influenced Thompson on his journey so far, the most profound examples being Twenty-One Pilots and The Arctic Monkeys. These elements can also be found in his previous releases ‘2,3 Seconds’ (2019) and ‘Since Forever’ (2020).

In conclusion, ‘Ends of the Earth’ is a pleasant piece of music that is suited to late-night mellowness and creates a relaxed atmosphere that is bound to have you calmly bopping.
