Walking in the entrance, you instantly feel like you are at a day festival instead of a concert. Lots of food stalls and beer tents!
This Mr White Pro event was held at the Shongweni Polo Club, so the grounds were definitely big enough to hold the hordes of hipster 'laaities'.
Let me tell you, they were in full force at this gig.
The first acts being of the 'loungy house' clubbing genre, DJ Bhashkar rocked his set and so did DJ Coco Loco, however, I felt, they didn't quite fit in with the overall atmosphere of the gig. However, once Veranda Panda hit the stage, the crowd started to gravitate towards the stage and do a little boogie.
My personal favourite act of the evening was Abbey Grange. The power duo really do leave you feeling amazed. Intensely powerful vocals, with beautifully poignant lyrics. Truly an act to watch out for.
Of course our favourites Rubber Duc came out on stage to give us a little, 'Aint nobody got time for that', which sent most of the prepubescent teens into a frenzy. I mean, 4 good looking guys on a stage who can sing and jam? I was somewhat intrigued.
Shortstraw, always a crowd pleaser, got the audience jumping up and down, just before The Kickstands blew us away with some foot thumping melodies.
The last act of the night, at 9:40pm was the act we had all been waiting for: Milky Chance. What else is there really to say but they ROCKED! Awesome vibes, awesome lighting and a great event overall!
Thank you to Mr White Pro for allowing Spliced Media and Underground Press backstage, you guys held a fantastic event!
(just be more aware of the underage drinkers passing out on the floor, haha).
