Johannesburg, 15 May 2025 — Lovers of drama, secrets, and forbidden romance are in for a treat. Telemundo’s latest telenovela, Cacau, arrives on Monday 26 May at 22:00 CAT on DSTV Channel 118, and it’s every bit as decadent and addictive as its name suggests.

Set against the lush backdrop of a cocoa plantation, Cacau follows Clara ‘Cacau’ Coutinho — a talented chocolate artisan with big dreams of conquering the pastry world. But when money troubles threaten to derail her ambitions, her father drops a bombshell: she’s the daughter of the influential plantation owner, Justino Vaz Pereira, a man with a complicated past and even messier present.

As Cacau’s world unravels, long-buried family secrets claw their way to the surface, pitting her against greed, betrayal, and heart-wrenching decisions. Along the way, she crosses paths with Tiago Saavedra, a man willing to risk everything to help her uncover the truth and escape the web of lies surrounding her.

Matilde Reymão leads the cast as Cacau, with José Condessa as Tiago. The ensemble includes screen veterans Alexandra Lencastre, António Capelo, Carolina Amaral, Fernanda Serrano, and more. Produced by TVI and Plural Entertainment, the show’s helmed by directors Edgar Miranda, Ricardo Carreira, Rafael Rahal, and Letícia Veiga, and produced by Ana Almeida.
