Johannesburg, South Africa – 25 November 2024 – Prime Circle and Virgin Music are excited to announce the release of the band's eighth studio album, The World We Know, available onall streaming platforms starting Friday, 29 November 2024.

After a 7-year hiatus from releasing new albums, this highly anticipated release marks a new era for the band, blending a powerful mix of rock, pop rock, and introspective ballads infused with fresh energy, brought in part by the addition of their seasoned new vocalist, Gavin Edwards.

Since captivating audiences in 2001, Prime Circle has built an impressive legacy with chart-topping hits, multi-platinum records, and sold-out tours across South Africa and internationally. The World We Know features singles like 'Better Days' and 'What We Got,' giving listeners a taste of the band’s evolving sound. Produced by Timon Seidl, Prime Circle’s longtime German collaborator, the album reflects their commitment to creating music that resonates deeply with their dedicated local fans, while also appealing to the international audiences they cherish. This global connection fuels their excitement to return to Europe on tour and share their latest work on an even broader stage.

“The excitement we feel for this release is unmatched,” shares bassist Marco Gomes. “With Gavin Edwards’ incredible vocals and the new energy within the whole band and our team, we believe together we’ve created something truly special. This album celebrates where we’ve been and where we’re headed.”

The World We Know marks Prime Circle’s first full-length album with Gavin Edwards, who contributes both as lead vocalist and co-songwriter. Edwards has seamlessly joined Marco Gomes (bass), Dirk Bisschoff (guitar), Dale Schnettler (drums) and Neil Breytenbach (keyboard). Initially envisioned as an EP for 2024, the chemistry and creative ease within the new lineup inspired them to exceed their expectations, ultimately producing a 10-track album and even more songs for future releases. “We couldn’t stop—every session kept sparking new ideas,” laughs Gavin. “We’re celebrating this full album, by creating more!”

To celebrate the album’s launch, Prime Circle will embark on a nationwide South African coastal tour in late 2024, giving fans the chance to experience The World We Know live. The tour will extend internationally with performances in Germany at the beginning of 2025.

“And then there’s the incredible experience of performing these songs live,” Neil shares. “Seeing people’s reactions, watching them connect with the music, and hearing them sing the lyrics back—it’s an indescribable feeling that makes everything worthwhile. We’ve already felt that energy with the first two singles, and we can’t wait to see the same connection with the rest of the album. I hope these new songs resonate just as deeply with our fans.”

With exciting horizons ahead and a legacy spanning over two decades, Prime Circle’s latest release hopes to make a lasting impact on fans, old and new alike.
