A prolific songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist, David is well-known as a trumpeter and keyboardist for the rock supergroup Springbok Nude Girls.

In addition to his contributions to the iconic Springbok Nude Girls, David Watkyns has an impressive portfolio of session and songwriting credits, collaborating with industry legends such as Mike Rutherford (Genesis, Mike and the Mechanics), Jack Hardman (Good Boy), Zolani Mahola (Freshlyground), Judith Sephuma, Jimmy Dludu, Majozi, and numerous emerging artists from Cape Town, including the talented Gabriela Diamond.

Having graced stages across Africa, Europe, and Asia, including notable events such as the Isle of Wight Festival (UK), St Paul's Cathedral (UK), Oppikoppi (SA), and Rocking the Daisies (SA), David Watkyns continues to leave an indelible mark on the global music scene.

The video, shot in a holiday-diary aesthetic, stars David alongside the talented French actress Chiara Duperchy. Renowned filmmaker Raoul Dyssell took the directorial reins, bringing his creative vision to life.

Chiara Duperchy and Raoul Dyssell are no strangers to collaboration, having gained recognition for their popular YouTube channel, "50mm French Girl," where they showcase a series of short films and poems.

About David Watkyns

David Watkyns is a singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from Cape Town, South Africa. David began playing piano at age 7 and trumpet at 8. His father's vinyl collection and regular visits to the Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra inspired him.
Before releasing music as a solo artist, David was best known for his performances with Arno Carstens and as a member of Springbok Nude Girls, with shows across Africa, Europe, and Asia, including the Isle of Wight Festival (UK), St Paul's Cathedral (UK), Oppikoppi (SA), and Rocking the Daisies (SA).
David is a jazz-studies graduate from the University of Cape Town. His music is a blend of pop, jazz, and rock that draws influence from artists such as Chet Baker, Peter Gabriel, The 1975, Coldplay, Andrew Wyatt, and Gregg Alexander. His songs feature catchy choruses, classic instruments, and poignant lyrics on love and loss. He is also a recipient of the MELA Award for his contribution to the South African music industry.
