Known for their lengthy, well-produced atmospheric rock opuses, Parisian post-rock outfit LOST IN KIEV have been challenging themselves the past 5 years to write shorter songs. Their fourth album ‘Rupture’ contains the apex of this process in the shape of ‘Prison of Mind’. A wild anthem on the intersection between post-rock and atmospheric sludge, this track features THE OCEAN vocalist Loïc Rossetti delivering a powerful performance with creative use of counterpoint.

Loïc Rossetti comments:

"I've always been a strong advocate of collaboration in the creative arts world. Max asked me if I want to lend my voice to their new record, and I listened to the song and liked it right away, it was well constructed, I liked the music and the melodies a lot. I recorded the track in Berlin in our little vocal booth that we are using with The Ocean. The whole process was very smooth, not a lot of stress due to Covid, and I think we are all happy and proud of the final result. It was a real pleasure to work with them."

About Lost In Kiev

Lost in Kiev are a Post-rock band from Paris.
Raw and driven, yet oozing with thick synth textures and a great sense of melancholy and drama, LOST IN KIEV further expand their own idiosyncratic take on cinematic, contemporary post-rock.
Post-rock has ever since its beginnings are shown an affinity to the use of speech samples, and has borrowed voices from movies or speeches by celebrities like Iggy Pop as in Mogwai's „Punk Rock“ or random lost souls as in GY!BE's „Blaise Bailey Finnegan III“.
