Johannesburg, 28 July 2025 – As the world faces disruptive change, the Singularity South Africa Summit 2025 is doubling down on its mission to shape Africa’s trajectory through purpose-driven leadership and artificial intelligence. Scheduled for 22–23 October 2025 at the Sandton Convention Centre, this year’s summit aims to offer more than just conversation—it will deliver strategy, tools and transformative thinking for navigating the exponential age.
Under the theme “Igniting Africa’s Future,” the summit—backed by headline sponsor Old Mutual and UBU as metaverse partner—will explore the vital convergence of leadership and AI in driving Africa’s future. This year's extended speaker lineup includes 26+ global and local experts sharing game-changing insights across business, ethics, innovation, and policy reform.
New Speakers, New Energy

Singularity SA 2025 has announced six additional thought leaders poised to reshape the narrative around AI and leadership in Africa:
- Paul Pagnato, renowned entrepreneur and transparency advocate, will unpack how trust-based leadership can catalyse growth in AI economies.
- Mxolisi Mgojo, ex-Exxaro CEO and B20 Co-Chair, will explore sustainable growth models and cross-sectoral collaboration during times of volatility.
- Prof. Bonang Mohale and Dr. Preeya Daya will lead a joint discussion on ethics and values-based leadership as the foundation for real societal impact.
- Dr. Mark Nasila, author and advocate for African-centred AI, will present a provocative keynote on why human-centric design must lead our technological development.
- Caroline van der Merwe, COO and co-founder, will spotlight inclusive innovation and how tech can give voice to the voiceless.
A Platform For Action-Oriented Leadership
The summit’s programming goes beyond inspiration to activate real-world impact. Sessions will dissect practical AI applications in leadership contexts and frame broader discussions around governance, innovation ecosystems, and Africa’s human capital future.
“The AI era demands a completely new kind of leadership,” said Mic Mann, Co-CEO of Singularity SA.
“This year’s event is about giving leaders the mindset, tools, and partnerships they need to lead through disruption.”
“We are prioritising action, not just ideas,” added Shayne Mann, Co-CEO.
“Our speakers are not theorising—they are building Africa’s future right now.”
Old Mutual: Partnering For Purpose
As the summit’s headline sponsor, Old Mutual is leaning into its strategic transformation, aligning exponential tech with people-first purpose.
“This summit is a vital platform for change,” stated Celiwe Ross, Old Mutual’s Director of Strategy, Sustainability, People and Public Affairs.
“We are committed to helping organisations evolve with technology and become resilient, purpose-driven institutions across Africa.”
More Than An Event: A Hybrid Experience
The summit will feature keynotes, immersive workshops, networking, and a curated expo—both in person and in the UBU metaverse. Attendees will engage in real-time, whether physically present or digitally connected, via gamified, interactive experiences.
