Cape Town, 3 December 2024: The festive season is around the corner, and Liberty Promenade has an array of activities planned to ensure that it will be the sweetest one yet. From 12 to 24 December, the centre will be hosting a kids’ gingerbread activation, featuring sugar and spice and all things nice. Here, little ones aged 4 to 11 will get to unleash their creativity as they decorate delicious gingerbread biscuits and capture memories with a unique photobooth. This delightful experience, set against a gingerbread house backdrop, will come complete with a lively gingerbread mascot, who will teach children a fun TikTok dance, with an opportunity to enter a TikTok competition under the supervision of their parents.

Alongside the gingerbread workshop, shoppers can look forward to the arrival of Santa, who will be available for photos and last-minute gift requests. Families will be treated to an immersive experience in a truly magical setting from 1 to 24 December. A variety of printing and merchandising options will be available near Relay Jeans, allowing families to capture and celebrate these special moments.

From 16 December, the mall will come alive with the sounds of live music in the main centre court, creating a festive atmosphere. Local musicians from the community are invited to share a video using the hashtag #LPFestive and complete the application form for a chance to be part of the holiday lineup. To ensure shoppers have ample time to find the perfect gifts, trading hours will also be extended from 16 December.

Proceeds from the gingerbread workshop will contribute to a youth upliftment programming, launching in January 2025. This project aims to supply essential items like school shoes, uniforms, and stationery to local schools, ensuring that the holiday spirit of generosity extends on into the new year, with maximum benefit for the community.
