Johannesburg, 25 June 2026: From 27 June to 4 July, Studio Universal invites football fans to celebrate the beautiful game with Super Soccer Saturday on DStv 112. Spanning two Saturday afternoons, the themed movie event showcases a selection of football-inspired films that combine humour, heart and unforgettable moments, delivering all the excitement of match day away from the pitch.

Studio Universal’s Super Soccer Saturday will feature the following films:

Saturday, 27 June, 4:10 PM - She’s The Man. Determined to prove she’s got what it takes to make the boys’ high school football (soccer) team, Viola Hastings impersonates her twin brother Sebastian and takes his place at his new prep school in this hilarious contemporary take on Shakespeare’s timeless comedy Twelfth Night.

Saturday, 4 July, 14:50 - Soccer Season: Offside. Mondli is captain of Soweto Kickers A Under 17 and is doing his best to lead his team. But with his father away and his mother not coping at home, being a leader is not easy. When the competing demands of home and team cause clashes in his life, Mondli realises what true leadership really is.

Saturday, 4 July, 16:30 - Shaolin Soccer. In this hysterical, eye-popping comedy, a team of misfits take their best shot at winning a championship by mixing martial arts with soccer. Using unorthodox gameplay, they face the dreaded Team Evil in the ultimate battle for the title.
