This partnership began serendipitously in late 2023, when a mutual friend introduced Charlie to Robin, who immediately recognized the potential in Charlie’s demos. Together, they meticulously whittled down a catalogue of over a hundred songs, ultimately selecting 19 that resonated as both personal favourites and crowd-pleasers. The decision to split the collection into two releases—SIDE A and SIDE B—pays homage to classic vinyl records, inviting listeners to enjoy each album as its own immersive experience.

Recording sessions were intentionally organic, capturing the raw, live-band energy that defines Charlie’s style. With Charlie laying down guitar and vocal tracks first, followed by drummer and bassist contributions, the album has a palpable energy that feels grounded and unfiltered. Robin Walsh contributed additional guitar and organ, and even enlisted his girlfriend’s vocals to complement Charlie’s, adding depth to the music’s harmonies.
