The Tazers has its roots stuck in the 70s while incorporating modern sounds and structures. This trio packs a high-energy performance that captivates their audience with fuzz tones, vocal harmonies and powerful drum rolls.
'In My Mind' is the first single from the forthcoming Fuzz Machine EP. Written during the band's 1st European tour in 2022, it ushers in a bold punk rock influence for the band. “It's a song about global issues, with relation to how your mind receives information & how it's all in your head at the end of the day” says Jethro Lock, lead singer of the band.
On Fuzz Machine the band tackle heavy world issues and In My Mind juxtaposes this with a feel-good, carefree attitude. “It's easy to get wrapped up in the news but sometimes you have to take a moment to enjoy yourself.” The Tazers took on a wide array of influences to bolster the pure energy needed to back up the lyrics and balance the message with delivery.
After their successful first European tour in spring 2022, they will be returning to Europe, touring through Germany, Austria, Switzerland, France, Netherlands, and the Czech Republic throughout March.
The current trio consists of Jethro Lock (guitar, vocals), Timothy Edwards (drums, vocals) and Werner Jordaan (bass, vocals).
The Tazers have been extremely active since their inception in 2015. They’ve released 3 EPs and a full-length album, which has led them to become one of South Africa's leading psych-rock bands. They’ve played all the biggest music festivals and venues SA offers, and they always leave the crowd wanting more.
The Tazers were nominated for ‘Best Rock Album’ at the 2020 South African Music Awards (SAMAs) and received multiple film accolades & nominations for their music video, ‘Plastic Kids’.
Recently, they have been growing their fan base around the world - reaching a huge milestone of 60 000 monthly listeners on Spotify. Alongside this, one of their hit songs, ‘Wake Up’ has reached over 2 million streams on the platform.
One of their latest singles, ‘Outer Space’ has had AirPlay all over the world, most notably from major public radio stations FM4 in Austria and Radio Fritz in Germany. Their latest music video, ‘Ready To Die’, was also featured on MTV, Germany.
Although this three-piece fuzz band has accomplished a lot over the years, the truth is… The Tazers have only just begun.
