Johannesburg, 1 July 2026: Sandton City has unveiled a purpose-built pick-up and drop-off zone on Sandton Drive, offering shoppers a safer, more convenient way to arrive and depart. Created to support the increasing use of e-hailing services such as Uber and Bolt, the new facility is designed to improve accessibility, enhance the visitor experience and help streamline traffic around the centre.

Officially launched last week, the dedicated My Sandton City Stop on Sandton Drive facility was introduced in response to increasing demand to streamline pick-ups and drop-offs and reduce congestion around some of the centre’s busiest entrances. This stop complements the existing My Sandton City Stop on 5th Street, expanding the transport and mobility offering available to visitors.

Conveniently located on Level 3 below Clicks with direct access from Sandton Drive, the purpose-built space has introduced dedicated bays for e-hailing vehicles, helping to improve overall traffic flow during busy shopping periods.

Designed Around How Shoppers Move

The My Sandton City Stop on Sandton Drive facility provides a considered waiting experience for shoppers, including seating, charging stations and Wi-Fi connectivity in a structured and monitored environment, separate from the general parking areas.

A new digital wayfinding screen has been installed to make collections quicker and more convenient. Displaying vehicle number plates alongside designated bay numbers helps shoppers easily identify where their driver is waiting, creating a smoother, more efficient pick-up experience.

Designed to accommodate high volumes during peak shopping periods and major events, the new facility forms part of Sandton City’s broader focus on improving accessibility and responding to the practical ways shoppers increasingly move through urban environments.
