Cape Town, 12 June 2026: Inspired by Nelson Mandela’s belief in the transformative power of education, Cavendish Square is marking Youth Month by inviting families to swap screen time for quality time around the table. The initiative offers a fun and interactive way to explore financial literacy during the upcoming school holidays.

Taking place on Saturday, 27 June, between 11h00 and 14h00, the FinMaster x Exclusive Books Fun Day will give visitors the chance to learn and enjoy FinMaster at no cost. The proudly South African board game uses strategy and friendly competition to make understanding money matters both accessible and entertaining for players of all ages.

A Proudly Local Success Story

The event forms part of Cavendish Square’s Youth Month celebrations, shining a spotlight on young South African innovation while creating a low-pressure and engaging space for families to build money confidence together.

Created by Cape Town-based startup Fintr, co-founded by Elijah Djan and Danei Rall, FinMaster has grown from a pizza-box prototype into an award-winning educational game, earning second place at the International Education Games Competition in Norway in 2025 and landing on shelves in stores nationwide.

Players will be able to learn the game in just a few minutes before joining as many short rounds as they like throughout the day. Every table winner will be entered into a prize draw taking place at 13h00, where Cavendish Square, Exclusive Books and investment vouchers together with FinMaster games, will be given away. Snacks and drinks, courtesy of Exclusive Books, will keep players fuelled for the competition.

Danei Rall, co-founder of FinMaster, shared, “FinMaster started as a way to make money talk fun instead of stressful. Seeing families crowd around a table, laughing and learning at the same time, is exactly why we built it. Doing that at Cavendish Square in Youth Month, alongside Exclusive Books, is a proudly local moment for us.”

Taking place in Centre Court, the experience will feature six gaming tables where players can jump into quick, entertaining rounds after a short introduction to the rules. Designed to be easy to learn and enjoyable for all ages, FinMaster takes players on a uniquely South African financial journey, where they build wealth from a humble spaza shop to luxury purchases, play the market and even throw a little load shedding into the mix to disrupt their rivals.

Whether shoppers are competitive board game fans or simply curious to try something different during the holidays, the FinMaster x Exclusive Books Play Day promises an afternoon of laughs, strategy and valuable lessons along the way.
