And what is this rock earworm about?
“It is about not ‘trying’ so hard. It’s about not trying so hard to fit in and play the game on other people’s terms,” says Francois.
The music video for Victor Ludorum is something to see!
In Victor Ludorum, Francois competes and loses against sports stars like Carina Horn (100m SA record holder), Damian Willemse (double World Cup Rugby Champion), Vanes-Mari du Toit (Proteas netball player), Rassie van der Dussen (Proteas Cricket player), Ryk Neethling (Olympic Gold medal winner), Carla Mackenzie (Sundowns soccer player) and Cameron Saaiman (UFC Bantamweight).
"Because the song is about ‘trying’ less, I thought it would be funny to really try against well-known sport stars! It was amazing that they allowed me to enter their worlds. I hope people see that it’s not as easy as it looks!” says Francois.
Hoe ek dit onthou: Reprint and Number 1 in first week
In Hoe Ek Dit Onthou, Francois and Annie Klopper wrote about the events throughout the years that shaped him as human and musician.
In the first week of Hoe Ek Dit Onthou’s official release on 27 September, it was the number 1 bestseller in Afrikaans. The book is hardly out, and due to the high demand, it already must be reprinted.
Francois' stories are at times hilarious, at other times astonishing, shocking, or impressive. These are his stories and how he remembers them.
