Stiaan Reynierse has shared the spotlight and stage with several music giants in the industry and this 'rocker' has set the stage aflame with the fireplaces in his throat! His brand-new album 'Anderkant die Reën' will be released on Friday 11 October 2024. The album is composed of 8 radical tracks that are part of unorthodox Afrikaans music.

“Anderkant die reën” is a unique album that breaks through the jaws of humanity's skulls and travels to deeper dimensions—through the shallow flesh wounds and permanent damage that happens somewhere between the cradle and the grave. The singer explores the ripple effect of deep emotional injuries; the reality of cause and effect; the high price of cheap mistakes; the deceptions and mirages with which the world fools mankind; the battle between truth and lies; and the art of warriorship in the complex journey of life. 

"Sometimes you just have to keep waiting... wait until the rain pours itself out,” says Stiaan. "None of us is spared the storms of life..."

The themes of the tracks on this album are powerful and meaningful.  Its lyrics and performance are honest, muscular and don't hesitate to colour outside the lines.  The genres vary between explosive rock and ballads with strong storylines that contain topics that society is too cautious to talk about out loud.

After some time out of the public eye, Stiaan Reynierse, well-known music producer, Theo Crous of Bellville Studios, musician Albert Frost and poet/lyricist, Francis Grobler joined forces which led to the birth of this exceptional album. "They were the accomplices..." jokes a modest Stiaan tongue-in-cheek, but with great appreciation for the 'team' of which Marius Nel was the helmsman, anchor and flag bearer.

Stiaan and music are synonymous. There are a few instruments that this versatile sound maker has not yet mastered. His thoughts are multidimensional and multifaceted - his thinking is free, and his tongue is outspoken.

It is precisely from this unbound place where poetess, freethinker, and lyricist Francis Grobler's ink and word art and Stiaan's thoughts and music masterfully intertwine and converge in extraordinary hits. "Francis and I come a long, long way. I choose the themes of the songs and speak straight from my heart and soul.  She listens to my words, but more to the silences and things between the lines that I struggle to write or speak. I think we make each other possible...”

Stiaan was at the point of 'giving up' after many hardships and injuries in the trenches of life. He says: "I wanted to give up... believe me... But no tears or rain or water alone could extinguish the fire of sound that burns within me... the truth must be revealed.”
