Singularity SA Summit 2025 Adds New Speakers to Explore AI, Robotics, and Female Leadership in Tech

Johannesburg, 13 August 2025 – With just over two months to go, the Singularity South Africa Summit 2025 is set to deliver an even more dynamic programme with the announcement of over 15 new speakers. The event, taking place at the Sandton Convention Centre on 22–23 October 2025, will spotlight the latest advances in robotics, automation, and the rising influence of women in AI.

Backed by headline sponsor Old Mutual and metaverse partner UBU, the summit will feature a world-class roster of local and international experts exploring how exponential technologies are reshaping work, creativity, and society in Africa. From AI ethics and leadership to the robotics revolution, the event promises provocative ideas and practical insights for leaders navigating a rapidly changing future.

A Diverse Roster Of New Thought Leaders

Among the latest speaker additions is Anita Schjøll Abildgaard, a Norwegian AI expert, who will examine the realities of staffing in the AI age. John Sanei will share strategies for staying human in a tech-driven world, while Jennifer Cheng Lo will discuss investing in digital assets.

South African innovator Bohlale Mphahlele, creator of a safety-alerting earpiece for women, will speak about her groundbreaking invention. Robotics expert Aaron Frank will cover the autonomous mobility revolution, while Vivian Lan will offer a virtual introduction to exponential technologies.

Other notable voices include Shayne Mann on leadership through invention, Annie Blecher on mental performance, and award-winning poet Lebo Mashile, who will host the event and debut an AI-assisted spoken word performance. Aaron Vaccaro, President of Singularity University, will share insights from the global innovation ecosystem, alongside panels featuring Reece Meyer, Nadia Jaftha, Jordan Crypt, and Valter Adão.

Robotics Up Close – Meet Maximus

This year, attendees will also encounter Maximus, a humanoid G1 Unitree robot, along with robotic canine companions Murphy and Mavis. These live demonstrations will show how robotics is driving innovation in mobility and problem-solving. Watch Maximus in action here.
